I love the way the East Berliners had the idea to make their road crossing signs more fun to cheer people up.  I think we could do with something similar.  Wouldn’t it be fun to have a leprechaun telling us to cross the road?  Maybe we’ll ask Angela Merkhel if she’d send us a grant for this?

[Flash 10 is required to watch video]

Blackpool used to be a holiday hotspot back in the day. It hasn’t changed much though and probably needs a lick of paint. However one thing worth doing is to go there in October to see the illuminations. I thought they’d be really tacky but they are brilliant! It’s about 3km of Christmas lights without the Christmas theme. This video is an example of what to expect.

At a market in Manchester, this former actor is now selling cheese. He is right that I had no idea he now made cheese. However, I never knew what he did before that either. My sources inform me he was Gail Platt’s husband in Coronation Street. I presume this is a fate worse than making cheese and selling it on market stalls while clinging on to minor former celebrity.

I think it’s time I admit that I suffer from a rare disability.  I’m not sure if there’s a medical term for it but I call it 3DDD, 3D Deficit Disorder.  In other words, I cannot see 3D images in films.  While everyone is oohing and aahing at all those things “flying” in their faces, I see a flat 2D surface.  I am going to apply for resource hours and an SNA.

If you’re in Dublin near St. James’ hospital and you like very large muffins in lots of different favours, the Yu Cafe in James Street is worth a visit.
