This project was a very fun project. We lit a candle and then we put a jar over the candle and we seen that when you cut the suply of air the candle will go out. The candle will still go out even if you put three coins around the candle and if you put food colouring around it.

Today we tried out a little, simple experiment. We wanted to find out what happenned to different objects when you pushed them into some sand/ We pushed a point of a pencil, bottom of a bottle and a top of a bottle through the sand!
Which object do you think would be the hardest to push through and why/
You cam try this at home but you will have to visit a beach and dig up some sand or buy a big bag of it in Argos for 3.99!

In English, we are still working on our narratives and will be for some time. This week, we are focussing in on characters and how good authors make them. Tune in eventually for some great stories from 5th Class!
This week is Science Week all over Ireland so we will be finding out about Materials and force.
PE this Wednesday, guys! We will be recapping on Basketball skills, receiving, dribbling and becoming the best basketball player!
In Art, we need to focus in a bit more on use of colour, lines, shadow and background. Look again at how Cezanne used the background and made it super interesting!
I think that is enough to get you all prepared for tomorrow!
All the best

In History we will be learning about the Ancient Greeks and lots of fun experiments in Science. In Gaeilge, we are learning about the difference between An Chathair agus Faoin Tuath. Tomorrow in Art, we will be looking at Paul Cezanne’s ” Still Life with Milk jug and fruit”. Lots more besides coming up!

On Tuesday 28 of October 2008 I was in St Patricks College in Thurles. I was surprised at the size of the place. It was like a castle. Thankfully I did not get lost. I was in the very old library (Croke library), were there was a lot of books on the G.A.A and on Religion.
When you are entering the college you can see some cows. In one of the rooms there are 12 bean bags and a t.v and in the new library there are around 10 or 12 computers and at the back of the new library there is a computer room. At the back of the college there is a football pitch. At the momet it is under repair I think it has something to do with the roof.

Teeth are very important. You have to brush them every morning and night, if you don’t they will turn YELLOW, and rot away. Last Friday we learned about teeth and we learned a lot. It was really FUN.
Well you know me, not writing a lot [funny, right!] see ya next time, bye.
