All about 5th Class
Hi
Unfortunately this will be the last week of the class blog with Mrs Lewis, I am moving to another school to become a principal!
However the show must go on adn this week is jam packed with fun things and some other not as fun things! Our Christmas concert is being shown in the school hall this Friday and the whole school are being treated to a full run through this week at some stage.
In Room 21 we are also putting on a version of ” Three little pigs” for our sister class, 5th class across the corridor.
Last week we finished our class projects on various counties in Ireland. Mrs. Lewis particularly liked the Mayo project but then she would be biased!
Anyway, Hope you are all having a happy week before Christmas!

In English last week and in coming weeks we will be creating our own stories. We had to create our own characters and setting and what was going to happen. We started on the beginning paragraph last Friday. Everyone had different ideas. Some people did animal stories and some did adventure stories and others did horror. Check back next week to find out more.

The Croppy graves are in Graiguecullen and we are doing a project on County Laois, we asked Jimmy, our caretaker to come in and show us one of the hooks the Irish soldiers used in the big Battle of Carlow in 1798. Jimmy made his own hook but it was not sharpened just in cse it hurt someone! It still looked a bit scary!
We went to the hall and talked about space, it was cool and the man knows a lot about space.
